As of Sep 2024, we have no postdoc opening, about five Ph.D. student openings, and maybe 1 undergraduate researcher position available.

Postdoctoral applicants should send a short cover letter, a CV (including a list of publications), and a copy of 1-2 representative first-author publications to Xiaoran.

Applicants for the chemistry graduate program should include a copy of their undergraduate transcripts in their email to Xiaoran.

Admitted graduate students at Syracuse University should feel free to contact Xiaoran, regardless of their prior research area. Relevant research experience is NOT required/expected for incoming graduate students. However, it is highly recommended to send their undergraduate (and MS, if applicable) transcripts. Xiaoran highly appreciates a solid undergraduate academic record, especially in physical chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics.

Undergraduate students from all related majors are welcome to contact Xiaoran. It is recommended to complete at least one semester of organic chemistry (or currently taking Organic Chemistry I).

Interested applicants are welcome to contact any lab member to learn more about the Hu Group.
